David Dixon is a songwriter, multi-instrumentalist & recording artist

 

Over the last few months, Wilmington, NC songwriter David Dixon has been balancing live performances with writing & recording new music. His latest release, “Before It Gets Too Cold” recently hit 100K streams on Spotify. Dixon was awarded a 2023 Artist Support Grant by New Hanover County. He was also a finalist for the NC Artist Fellowship Award (NC Arts Council). Dixon studied guitar performance at the acclaimed Berklee College of Music in Boston. His musical styles consist of pop, rock, blues & soul. Think John Mayer meets Derek Trucks, with some Ed Sheeran sprinkled on top. Dixon's self-titled album was Mastered by Grammy Award-winner, Brian Lucey (The Black Keys, Beck). His 5-song EP, “The Game” was released in August of 2021 and features his most popular song to date, “Across the Room”, along with a guest appearance by Korey Riker on horns (John Legend) on “Better With You By My Side”.

Dixon performs solo shows while “looping” multiple guitar, percussion & vocal parts. He also plays violin, bass, piano & mandolin. Dixon regularly performs at music festivals, on college campuses, songwriting showcases, house concerts, weddings & corporate events. He opened for Phillip Phillips (American Idol Winner) at Greenfield Lake Amphitheater to a sold-out crowd. Dixon has performed at the NC Seafood Festival in Morehead City, the Beaufort Music Festival, & the Wilmington Wine & Food Festival. He has toured South Korea twice, performing on US military bases for the troops. Dixon has also performed in the Dominican Republic, the Bahamas, & all over the US
