David dixon is a singer, songwriter and guitarist

Wilmington, NC-based songwriter, David Dixon has been staying busy in recent months. He was a finalist for the NC Artist Fellowship Award (NC Arts Council). He also opened for singer-songwriter Phillip Phillips (American Idol winner) in September at Wilmington’s Greenfield Lake Amphitheater to a sold-out crowd. Dixon studied guitar performance and songwriting at the acclaimed Berklee College of Music in Boston. His musical styles consist of pop, rock, blues and soul, truly something for everyone. Think John Mayer meets Derek Trucks, with some Red Hot Chili Peppers sprinkled on top. Dixon's full-length album release (2015) was Mastered by Grammy Award-winner, Brian Lucey (the Black Keys, Ray Lamontagne, Beck). He is currently working on a new EP of original songs. Dixon performs solo shows while “looping” multiple guitar, percussion and vocal parts. He also plays violin, bass, piano and mandolin. Dixon performs with his full band (David Dixon Trio) for larger events, music festivals, showcases and wedding receptions. He has performed for the US Military in South Korea twice, and has also performed in the Dominican Republic, the Bahamas, and all over the United States.
